LOCATION:
   The 2012 Summer Intensive will be held in the Intensive Course Studio, on our main campus in Argenton-Chateau (79),
                    
a medieval town north of Bordeaux and south of the Loire Valley,
in the Poitou-Charentes region of southwestern France.
                   
Argenton-Chateau is situated 2.5 hours from Paris-Montparnasse (total travel time: TGV train + program shuttlebus).

CLASS DATES:   May 24, 2012 - August 18, 2012   (Mid-summer break: June 29 - July 7, 2012)
                       
One 5-week term, a one-week vacation, followed by one 6-week term; 12 weeks total
CLASS SCHEDULE:
The daily schedule is 6 hours of life-model, 5 days a week (Sunday - Thursday, 9am - 6pm).
                           
Figure poses will vary in length between 10 minutes and two weeks (50+ hrs.).
                           
The course will offer lecture-demonstrations 1-2x weekly and in-studio critique, 4 days per week.
                           
Full-time faculty will occasionally work alongside students as fellow artists.
CLASS SIZE:           12 maximum + instructors
                           
The class will accept a maximum of 12 students, plus 2 alternates in case of cancellations.
WHO is ELIGIBLE?
  Anyone may apply - There are no academic or other pre-requisites.
                
             
All students must enroll full-time for this 12-week course.
                
             
There is no option for part-time enrollmet, or late arrival.

TUITION PRICE:   4950 euros, shared 2BR housing included **
            
             
Full payment for final applicants is due on April 10, 2012.
            
             
Instructed figure sessions 30 hrs/ week for 12 weeks total, including a one-week vacation.
HOUSING:
     Twelve weeks of 2BR shared housing in Argenton-Chateau included in tuition price.
                      
Students live in program housing, assigned and billed starting March 15, in the order that applications were received.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:  "Summer Intensive 2012"
The 2012 Summer Intensive is entitled "Re-forming the Elements of Figurative Art"
Figure sessions meet for 12 weeks of drawing and painting the human figure from life, 30 hrs. per week.
It will be team-taught by the artists Timothy Stotz, Nicole Michelle Tully
and 2012 visiting faculty Tobias Hall.

The Summer Intensive course offers a full-time, structured curriculum of daily figure drawing and painting from life.
