The 2009 Summer Intensive priority application deadline is: January 1, 2009.
The 2009 Summer Intensive, May 21 - August 15, 2009, is a unique, full-time, 3-month curriculum in drawing and painting the human figure
from life.
Anyone may apply. There are no academic or other pre-requisites.
The 2009 summer course is entitled "Re-forming the Elements of Figurative Art". It offers a 12-week schedule of daily drawing and painting from life,
with a one-week break in the middle, June 26 - July 4, 2009.
The class will accept a maximum of 12 students, plus 2 alternates in case of cancellations.
The 2009 Summer Intensive will be team-taught by the artists Timothy Stotz and Nicole Michelle Tully.
The course will offer lecture-demonstrations 1-2x weekly and in-studio critique, 4 days per week with F/T faculty.
The daily work schedule is 6 hours of life-model, 5 days a week. Figure poses will vary in length between 10 minutes and two weeks (50+ hrs.), depending on the principles being discussed and taught.
Full-time faculty will occasionally work alongside students as fellow artists, producing both drawings and paintings.

The 2009 Summer Intensive will be held in Argenton-Chateau, France, a fortified medieval town located in the countryside north of Bordeaux and south of the Loire Valley,
in the Poitou-Charentes region of southwestern France.
Argenton-Chateau is situated 2.5 hours from Paris-Montparnasse via TGV train link (total travel time: train + shuttlebus),
and 4 hours from London or Dublin via commuter air link in Tours (total travel time: flight + private car).
