|
"You showed me the meaning of beauty... that's all I want to say." - M. S. (RISD), 2005 Intensive student
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ADMISSIONS for the 2010 AUTUMN INTENSIVE are now CLOSED.
The 2010 Autumn Intensive priority application deadline was April 15, 2010.
The 2010 Autumn Intensive, August 26 - October 23, 2010**, is a unique, full-time, 8-week curriculum
in painting the human figure from life.
(**Our regular 3-Month Autumn course has been officially shortened by two weeks, due to
ongoing renovations to our facilities. See new price below.)
Admission is selective, but students of all levels are encouraged to apply.
Preference will be given to prior 3-month Intensive Course students, and to new students with strong drawing and painting skills.
The 2010 Autumn course is entitled "Painting and the Principles of Living Form".
It will offer a 8-week schedule of daily painting, with an emphasis on short- and long-pose figure painting in oils, with no mid-term vacation.
The class will accept a maximum of 12 students, plus 2 alternates in case of cancellations.
The 2010 Autumn Intensive will be team-taught by the artists Timothy Stotz and Nicole Michelle Tully.
The course will offer lecture-demonstrations 1-2x weekly and in-studio critique, 4 days per week with F/T faculty.
The daily work schedule is 6 hours of life-model, 5 days a week.
Figure poses will vary in length between 6 and 45 hours total,
primarily painting the human figure, using a limited palette underpainting technique, as well as a prismatic palette for various "wet-into-wet" techniques
(e.g. "au premier coup", "alla prima", "in-painting" or "form painting").
Full-time faculty will work alongside students daily as fellow artists, producing both drawings and paintings.
PRIORITY TUITION PRICE:   3750 euros ** shared 2BR housing included
(NOTE: Priority price is valid for applications received by April 15, 2010).
