"...more artistic nourishment in my three months there than in years of art, and dozens of other instructors."

The Admissions Process - 3-Month Intensive Courses and Winter at the Louvre
All 3-month Intensive Courses and Winter at the Louvre are enrolled by advance application only.
Applications for these courses are published online only, six to eight months before the first day of class.
It is impossible to apply for a class before its priority application and official course description PDF are published online.
We reserve the right to modify the dates and description of any course until the online publication of the priority application PDF.
Admission is competitive. But the applicant pool does vary, in both size and strength, from season
to season and deadline to deadline.
All applications are reviewed in competition with one another, immediately after each deadline passes -- not before.
Every class is intentionally unique in its artistic mix, and in its average levels of experience and skill.
Most Intensive courses and Winter at the Louvre are now fully enrolled after their priority deadline.
Tuition payment is due paid in full two weeks after admissions notification. See Prices and Payment for details.
If any course is not fully enrolled by the priority deadline, then a final
application deadline date will be set, and the process repeats.
Alternates are nominated as part of the normal admissions process, in order to fill any last-minute student cancellations,
should they occur. If last-minute alternates are needed, a special notice and deadline will be listed on the relevant course
description page, and on this How to Apply page.
For all these reasons, it is effectively impossible to enter any 3-month course or Winter at the Louvre at the last minute.
Studio Escalier is a private educational institution. Our studio facilities and lectures in Paris, as well as our campus in Argenton-Chateau
are not open to the general public. Personal interviews are not a required part of the admissions process.
Deadlines - 3-Month Intensive Courses
3-Month Intensive Courses are enrolled on three deadlines:

a scholarship deadline (six months before the first day of class)

a priority deadline (five months before the first day of class), and

a final deadline (two months before the first day of class).
Scholarship application guidelines and deadlines can be reviewed on the
Scholarships and Aid page.
Priority applicants enroll at a published, reduced price (approximately 10% discount).
Priority students are also given first housing preference, in the order applications are received.
Final applicants are enrolled at the full tuition price, after the student cancellation/refund deadline has passed.
Deadlines - Winter at the Louvre
Winter at the Louvre is enrolled on two deadlines:

a priority deadline (five months before the first day of class), and

a final deadline (two months before the first day of class).
Note: There are no scholarships or student aid available for the Winter at the Louvre program.
Priority applicants enroll at a published, reduced price (approximately 10% discount).
Final applicants are enrolled at the full tuition price, after the student cancellation/refund
deadline has passed.

Admission Process - Monthly and Special Programs
Our Monthly and Special Programs may be enrolled by advance application, or by "first-come,
first-served" registration. Download the appropriate application PDF from the list at left, on this page, for specific program details.
Applications for these courses are published online only, six to eight months before the first day of each class.
It is impossible to apply for a class before its priority application and final course description PDF are published online.
We reserve the right to modify the dates and description of any course until the publication of the priority application PDF.
Admission to Monthly and Special Programs is somewhat competitive. The applicant pool does vary a bit more, in both size and strength,
than for our longer programs.
Monthly and Special Programs are not always fully enrolled after their priority deadline.
If any course is not fully enrolled by the priority deadline, then a final
application deadline date will be set, and the process repeats.
Tuition payment is due paid in full two weeks after admissions notification. See Prices and Payment for details.
Alternates are nominated as part of the normal admissions process, in order to fill any last-minute student cancellations,

description page, and on this How to Apply page.

Deadlines - Monthly and Special Programs
Monthly and Special Programs are enrolled on two deadlines:

a priority deadline (four to six months before the first day of class), and

a final deadline (6 to 8 weeks before the first day of class).
Priority applicants enroll at a published, reduced price (approximately 10% discount).
In Argenton-Chateau, priority students are given first housing preference,
in the order applications are received.
Final applicants are enrolled at the full tuition price, after the student cancellation/refund deadline has passed.
