The April in Paris - 2009 Drawing Program is a "hands-on" opportunity for arts professionals, emerging artists and art students,
available exclusively through Studio Escalier in this location. The course will also facilitate opportunities for students to draw in the Louvre.
The course will offer a structured curriculum of daily figure drawing from nature ( 6 hours daily),
with additional evening visits to the Louvre, five Wednesday and Friday nights, for lectures and drawing outside of class.
Louvre lectures will place special emphasis on 18th c French sculpture, and paintings of the 16th - 17th c.
Italian, French and Flemish schools, especially as they relate to the evolution of drawing in the French School
and School of Paris, 17th - 20th c.
With current Studio Escalier ID, all enrolled April in Paris students may apply for a yearly student or
professional membership (costs 25 - 55 euros), to enter and draw in the Louvre daily, at no further cost.
The 2009 Paris Drawing Intensive will be team-taught by the artists Timothy Stotz and Nicole Michelle Tully.
Full-time faculty will occasionally work alongside students as fellow artists, producing both drawings and
